Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

The government Child Care Subsidy (CCS) aims to make early learning more affordable; however, we understand it’s not always easy to navigate. We are here to help.

Dalas Family Day Care approved under Family Assistance Law to receive CCS on behalf of families.

CCS is paid to Dalas Family Day Care and we pass it on to families as a fee reduction. Families pay the difference between the care fee and the subsidy amount. There are important rules about the fees we charge the families.

Care Fee

We're thrilled to provide a safe, nurturing environment for your child. Below is an overview of our fee structure, including information about the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to help with the cost of care.

Hourly Rate

  • $13.00 per child, per hour.

How It Works

  • Fees are calculated based on the total number of hours your child attends care.

  • Payments are made weekly or fortnightly (as arranged) via [insert payment method, e.g., direct debit or bank transfer].

Booking & Cancellations

  • We have a minimum booking of [insert hours, e.g., 2 hours].

  • If you need to cancel, please let us know at least [insert timeframe, e.g., 24 hours] in advance to avoid any charges.

Public Holidays & Absences

  • Charges still apply for public holidays or when your child is absent unless we agree on other terms in advance.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

  • The Australian Government offers the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) to help reduce your child care fees. The amount you’re eligible for depends on factors like your family income, the number of hours you work, and your child’s age.

  • If you qualify for CCS, the subsidy will be applied directly to your fees, reducing the amount you need to pay.

  • To check your eligibility for CCS and to apply, please visit the MyGov website or speak with us if you need assistance.

Extra Information

  • Our fees cover care only. Meals or special activities may incur additional charges, unless specified.

Sample Calculation

For example, if your child is with us for 5 hours:

  • $13.00 × 5 hours = $65.00

  • If eligible for CCS, the amount you pay will be reduced based on your subsidy rate.

We’re here to support you and make your family’s day care experience as smooth and affordable as possible. If you have any questions or need more information, feel free to get in touch!

GAP Fee

Families who receive CCS are required to make a co-contribution to their child care fees under Family Assistance Law. They do this by paying the difference between the provider’s fee and the CCS amount. This is known as the out-of-pocket or gap fee.

Services Australia balances CCS payments after each financial year to ensure families are paid the right amount.

From 1st of July 2023 our company accept only EFT payment

Absence

Child Care Subsidy is payable for up to 42 absence days for a child in a financial year for sessions of care a child is enrolled in and did not attend, but only for sessions of care where an individual still incurs a genuine fee liability to pay for the care. A reason does not need to be provided for a child’s initial 42 days of absence. Once 42 absence days have occurred in a financial year, Child Care Subsidy can only be paid for any additional absences where they are taken for a reason set out in Family Assistance Law. Dallas Family Day Care will ask the reason and supporting documents to submit additional absences

Families are not entitled to receive CCS when care begins or ceases in an absence. This means a child must be in care on the first day of booked care and the last day of booked care (including the notice period). Parents/guardians must ensure their child attends their last day of care. If an absence is submitted, the full fee for the day will be charged until the last actual attendance.

Holiday

Educators are not required to provide care on public holidays however if they do, fees will be charged as a set in the Educator Fee Schedule

Standard fees and booked hours are payable on all absences, including public holidays, to maintain secured placement. Educators are not required to hold a place for families who do not pay the full absence fees.

If parents decided to go on the long holiday 2 weeks' notice must be provided to the Dalas Family Day Care.

Educator Availability

If the educator is unavailable to provide the care – no fee is charged.

Invoices and receipts

Fees will be paid to the Educator, as the Dalas Family Day Care Service's agent according to the Educator Fee Schedule that is signed by the Educators, the Approved Provider, and the Parent/Guardian.

Educator will issue invoice fortnightly and provide with the receipt after receiving the paiment

Statement of Entitlement

Each fortnight families will be sent a Statement of Entitlement outlining the care used, total fees, Care Subsidy, and the parent portion of the fee. The parent portion is to be paid by families on receipt of this statement.

If any adjustments are made to any fortnights prior to the current fortnight a Parent/Guardian Advice will be provided to outline these adjustments and any debits or credits that apply. Payments will need to be adjusted between the Educator and parent/guardian accordingly.

Financial Difficulties

If a family is experiencing financial difficulties, a suitable payment plan may be arranged with authorization of Dalas Family Day Care.
